The 25-year-old striker Vangelis Pavlidis has signed a contract with Benfica valid until June 30, 2029, the Lisbon club announced this Monday, which paid 18 million euros (ME) for the Greek international.
“Sport Lisbon and Benfica – Futebol, SAD announces that it has reached an agreement with AZ Alkmaar for the acquisition of all the rights of the player Evangelos Pavlidis for a sum of 18 million euros (ME), to which is added an additional value of two ME paid according to pre-determined objectives,” reads a statement sent by the “incarnations” to the Securities Market Commission (CMVM).
The striker, who has scored six goals in 38 appearances for Greece, trained at Bochum in Germany and spent time with Borussia Dortmund’s B team and Willem II before moving to AZ Alkmaar, who operate there, for the 2021-22 season, scoring 33 goals last season, 29 of them in the Dutch league.
