25-year-old striker Vangelis Pavlidis has signed a contract with Benfica until June 30, 2029, the Lisbon club announced this Monday, paying 18 million euros (ME) for the Greek international.
“Sport Lisbon and Benfica – Futebol, SAD announces that it has reached an agreement with AZ Alkmaar to acquire all the rights of the player Evangelos Pavlidis for the amount of 18 million euros (ME), to which an additional value of two ME is added to be paid according to pre-determined targets “,” said the statement sent by the “embodiments” to the Commission on the Securities Market (CMVM).
The striker, who has scored six goals in 38 appearances for Greece, trained at Bochum in Germany and spent time with Borussia Dortmund’s B team and Willem II before moving to AZ Alkmaar, who operate there, for the 2021-22 season, scoring 33 goals last season, 29 of them in the Dutch league.
