FC Porto president Andre Villas-Boas said on Tuesday he intends to keep goalkeeper Diogo Costa, considering him “one of the biggest assets” of the Porto club.
“First of all, I would like to congratulate the national team for the achievement that has been bestowed upon us. We hope that they will achieve the final victory in this European Championship. We want him to continue to represent Porto colours with dignity, and I think that will be the case, and we will be pleased with his performance, and that it will last until the end,” he said.
Villas-Boas, who was received at Porto City Hall by Mayor Rui Moreira, commented on the goalkeeper’s performance against Slovenia on Monday, in which he played a decisive role in Portugal’s qualification for the quarter-finals of Euro 2024, saving three Slovenian penalties (3-0, after 0-0 at the end of extra time).
