In Bardella’s homeland, the Portuguese are more afraid of the left than the far right

Portuguese living in Drancy, the country where National Union leader Jordan Bardella was born and raised, are more concerned about the rise of the left than the far right, arguing that it is well integrated into the country.

Drancy, northeast of Paris, is a typical suburb of the French capital – a residential town with apartment blocks, streets lined with houses and a high level of immigration – but it has a peculiarity: it was there that two major figures lived as children of the French right.

The leader of the National Union (National Rally, in French) Jordan Bardella was born and raised in Drancy, while the president of the Reconquête party, Eric Zemmour, spent his childhood here.
