“Let me say this as clearly as I can: I am the nominee,” Joe Biden said. “I am the leader of the Democratic Party. Nobody is going to throw me out,” he said. “I am not quitting. I am in this race until the end, and we are going to win.”
The president’s statements were reported by several media outlets, including the Associated Press and Politico, which kept their sources anonymous.
The reaction came after the New York Times reported on Wednesday that Biden was considering dropping out of the race. Before Biden’s statements, the White House had already denied the American newspaper’s information.
