Chelsea have renewed their interest in signing Sporting Lisbon centre-back Ousmane, according to British media reports.
With the departure of Brazilian Thiago Silva to Flamengo, the Blues have turned to the 20-year-old Leonin centre-back. Despite his contract with Sporting until 2027 and a release clause of 80 million euros, the Ivorian could leave for a more reasonable sum of 50 million euros.
Valued at €42 million by Transfermarkt, Diomande was one of the best eleven players in the Portuguese league and played an active role in the Lions’ title win. However, with the arrival of Belgian Zeno Debaste, also 20, the exit becomes easier. The new reinforcement also plays on the right side of a three-man defence. Here, too, Amorim is well served, as they also have Quaresma and Saint-Just. Diomande also occupies a central position (Coates’ place), but is a player that SAD is willing to sell below the release clause. Sporting paid €9 million to Midtjylland.
