Basque: Jon Izagirrek Cofidisekin request of December 2025
Jon Izagirre has renewed his contract with the Cofidis teamfor the next season, that of 2025as reported by the French team on Monday.
The Ormaiztegi cyclist joined Cofidis in 2022 from Astana. After his renewal, when analysing what he has experienced so far with his team’s jersey, Izagirre has highlighted two victories: on the one hand, the one obtained in the Itzulia Basque Country in 2022, in the Arrate stage; on the other, the stage victory achieved in the 2023 Tour de France, in Belleville-en-Beaujolais.
“I am really happy to continue in the team,” said the Basque rider, who has also committed to trying to win his third stage victory in the Tour de France in his career.
Cofidis general manager Cédric Vasseur has pointed out that Izagirre “puts his experience at the service of the group” and has highlighted the contribution of the Guipuzcoan in any of the events in which he takes part.
