Over 200 fans banned from sports venues in 2022

Since the beginning of 2022, more than 200 people have been unable to enter sports venues due to bad behavior, the Office for the Prevention and Control of Violence in Sports (APCVD) said on Wednesday.

“Since January 1, 2022, the APTSVD has issued 544 convictions and 230 measures have come into force to ban access to sports facilities. According to the PSP’s National Sports Information Center, they are currently banned from entering sports venues. about 250 supporters, 180 of which are by decision of the APVA,” the organization said in a statement.

In the third quarter of the year alone, from July to September, the APCVD opened 368 more violation cases and 68 measures came into force banning sports facilities, “among them three fans identified in connection with the incidents in Estoril FC Porto, the seventh round of the I Football leagues.”

“Most banned fans have been identified by police for using pyrotechnics in sports shows and are associated with organized groups, i.e. cheerleaders,” the organization explained.

Throwing objects, acting or inciting violence, racism, xenophobia and intolerance are other arguments that led to these supporters being banned.
