Two-month-old baby rescued from rubble in Turkey

A two-month-old baby was rescued alive this Saturday in Hatay, Turkey. The child was under the rubble for 128 hours after strong earthquakes rocked the country on Monday and Tuesday.

The boy was immediately taken to the hospital for examination and, by all indications, he is in a stable condition, the Turkish Anadolu agency is promoting. He is currently in the hospital ward.

More than 33,000 people have died and more than 90,000 have been injured in natural disasters that have rocked Turkey and Syria. The death toll is believed to be higher than recorded due to the fact that thousands of victims are still under the rubble, and also because of the cold that is being felt in the affected countries.

The United Nations (UN) has listed 50,000 dead as a result of the earthquake. Due to the large number of dead and injured, as well as traces of destruction, Monday’s earthquake is already considered to be the strongest in these countries in a century.
