It’s not the first time the North American president has made a gaffe, but it comes at a time when there is growing pressure within the Democratic Party for him to abandon the White House race, largely because of the disastrous first debate with his Republican opponent.
“And now I want to turn the floor over to the President of Ukraine, who has both courage and determination. Ladies and gentlemen, President Putin,” Joe Biden said, soon correcting the sentence.
“He will defeat President Putin. President Zelensky.”
Shortly after, when asked whether his vice president, Kamala Harris, had what it takes to defeat Donald Trump, he said, “I would not have chosen Vice President Trump to be vice president if I thought she did not have the qualifications to be president.”
According to the New York Post, these were not the only mistakes that the head of the North American state made at a meeting with journalists, stating, for example, that less than a billion people live in China, which is incorrect, and confusing the Asian country with Russia.
The only person who didn’t let Biden’s gaffe go unnoticed was Donald Trump. “Good job, Joe!” the Republican White House candidate joked at the end of a video in which he talked about his opponent.
Biden’s string of gaffes has Democrats seriously worried: the number of those calling for his resignation from office is growing every day, but the American president seems unwilling to give in.
“I am determined to continue this race to the end and defeat Donald Trump,” he guarantees.
The final word will rest with the Democratic Party Convention, which will take place from August 19 to 22.
United in the production of missiles
This is one of the most important decisions taken by Washington to protect the European space. Four countries of the Alliance – Germany, France, Italy and Poland – have signed an agreement to cooperate on the development of long-range missiles. Others may join this group, the next one to be named is Great Britain.

All the attributes of the Cold War are returning, with direct confrontation,” said the official representative of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov.

Zelensky guarantees that Ukraine is very close to joining NATO. “The next step will be an invitation, and after that – membership. It is clear that we will not be in NATO until the war in Ukraine ends,” the Ukrainian president said, expressing a desire to join the Alliance in the near future.

Moscow acknowledges that it is taking measures, without specifying what they are, to “counter” what it sees as a “serious threat” to Russia’s security from NATO. “We will analyze the decisions taken very carefully. They represent a very serious threat to national security,” a spokesman for the Russian president said.
