The four defendants accused of the murder of pianist Pedro Queiroz in March 2023 appeared before the Setubal court this Monday. Rui Patricio and Angelo Taya were sentenced to 25 years in prison for the murder, desecration of a corpse and theft of pianist Pedro Queiroz, Ana Gonçalves was acquitted and Paulo Rodrigues was sentenced to three years with a suspended sentence for desecration of a corpse and property of a prohibited weapon
The four were charged with complicity in the commission of crimes including aggravated murder, aggravated kidnapping, aggravated robbery, desecration of a corpse and bank card misuse.
The motive for the crime was 80 thousand euros. The victim sold a house in Olivais and received this amount. The suspects had this information and beat him to death to get the money.
Pedro Queiroz was divorced and childless, so his disappearance was not reported to authorities. He was only identified when his body was found.
