The four defendants in the case of the murder of pianist Pedro Queiroz in March 2023 in Setúbal heard the decision of the Setúbal Court this Monday.
The four defendants in the case – three men aged 27, 46 and 47 and a woman aged 45 – are accused of co-authorship in the crimes of aggravated murder, aggravated kidnapping, aggravated robbery, desecration of a corpse and aggravated abuse of a warranty card or credit card device or payment information.
In closing arguments, the prosecution asked for sentences of 25 years’ imprisonment for the two defendants in pretrial detention and 24 years and six months’ imprisonment for the two defendants.
According to prosecutors, the victim, a drug user, had an argument with one of the defendants, her supplier, and was brutally attacked, gagged and locked in a bathroom, where she later died.
According to investigators, the three men accused in the case later decided together to throw the body into a well in the town of Penteado, in the municipality of Moita, Setubal district.
The accused allegedly committed the crime with the intent to appropriate large amounts of property from the victim.
