Find out how much the Big Three earned for providing players to their teams at Euro 2024

With Euro 2024 over and Spain beating England 2-1 in the final, it’s time to take stock. And the big three already know they’ll get €1.89m in transfer fees.

UEFA has allocated €240 million to compensate clubs for the absence of their players during the competition. The daily rate for Portuguese clubs is €6,670 and covers the period between ten days before the first game of Euro 2024 of the team in question and the date of its withdrawal from the competition. For example, in the case of the Portuguese team, each player will pay his club the equivalent of 28 days.

The biggest contributor is Benfica with six players (Jurasek, although loaned out in January, is included in these accounts as the pass belongs to the Eagles). The €987,000 that the Reds will receive from UEFA exceeds the combined amounts of Porto (€560,000) and Sporting (€346,000). In total, the Big Three are entitled to €1,894,280.
