Mbappe makes his dream come true by wearing the Real Madrid shirt. The player was presented in front of 80,000 fans at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium.

France striker Kylian Mbappe admitted on Tuesday that after leaving Paris Saint-Germain he is living his childhood dream of representing Real Madrid, “the greatest club in the history of football.”

After his contract with the Parisians expired, 25-year-old Mbappe was presented on Tuesday at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium in Madrid as Real’s new player on a five-year contract, which the club had already announced at the beginning of June.

“Wow, it’s incredible to be here. I’ve dreamed of playing for Real Madrid for many years, and today my dream has come true. I’m a very happy boy, very happy,” began the French footballer, who was due to play in Euro 2024 in recent weeks.

Mbappe was presented in front of some 80,000 fans at the Santiago Bernabeu, and was accompanied on stage by Zinedine Zidane, his compatriot and one of the best players of all time, also a former merengue player.

The striker, represented by the Real Madrid president, thanked Florentino Perez for his trust from day one, as well as all those who worked to make his move to the club possible.

“I know it was difficult, but I’m here, I’m a Real Madrid player and my whole family is happy and my mother is crying…,” he added to the audience, where his parents were in the front row.

The French forward was handed the number nine shirt, the same number worn by Cristiano Ronaldo when he started for the Merengues and when he was unveiled in July 2009, and like the Portuguese, Mbappe ended with a message to the fans.

The forward asked everyone to shout “Ala Madrid!” in unison, just like Cristiano Ronaldo, who has been a role model for Mbappe for years, did in 2009, ever since he had “posters” of the Portuguese in his room.

There were several moments during the presentation where the French striker declared his love for Real Madrid, insisting it was a dream come true and an example to children that it can be achieved.

Before giving the floor to Mbappe, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez also stressed the importance of the moment.

“Zidane, 12 years ago you invited a girl to come to Real Madrid and today she is the protagonist. It’s time to welcome an exceptional player who is coming to help us continue winning. A player who is fulfilling a lifelong dream,” the director said.

Kylian Mbappe arrived at Real Madrid after seven seasons at Paris Saint-Germain, during which he wore the colours of AS Monaco, his first professional club, where he joined as a junior from Bondy.
