Portuguese driver Antonio Felix da Costa (Porsche) bid farewell to the Formula E world title this Saturday, withdrawing from the first of two races this weekend in London, the penultimate race of the season.
The Portuguese rider, who started from ninth position, was pushed against the wall in the fight for fifth place and eventually gave up.
“It was a tough weekend because we had problems with the car in two free practice sessions. We started from ninth place and when I was fighting for fifth place I was completely pinned into the wall. [piloto britânico, Oliver] Rowland. It’s sad,” Felix da Costa commented.
The Portuguese rider had won three times in a row, four in the last five races, and was still dreaming of the world title.

Today’s race was won by German Pascal Wehrlein (Porsche), a teammate of the Portuguese driver, who beat New Zealander Mitch Evans (Jaguar) by 0.617 seconds and Switzerland’s Sebastien Buemi (Envision) by 1.457 minutes.
Wehrlein leads the field on Saturday with 180 points, three more than Evans. Antonio Felix da Costa is fourth with 134 points, 26 in play.
The 16th and final race of the season will take place on Sunday.
