The National Republican Guard (GNR) of Porto this Monday detained eight men aged between 34 and 52 and a woman aged 46 for drug trafficking and possession of illegal weapons in the municipalities of Penafiel, Marco de Canaveses and Sinfaes.
The investigation into drug trafficking, possession of prohibited weapons and illegal possession of weapons, which continued for a year, resulted in 11 house searches, seven street search warrants and seven arrest warrants outside the scene of the crime. in the cities of Entre os Rios, Echo, Canelas, Rio de Moinhos, Pinheiro, Rance, Alpendurada and Matos and Socelu.
According to the GNR statement, the military seized more than seven thousand euros in cash, 618 doses of heroin, 294 doses of cocaine, 436 doses of hashish, 165 methadone tablets, seven firearms, three sabers, a dagger, six cars. a laptop computer, 21 mobile phones, an iPad, precision scales, various machines, tools and tools for handicrafts and construction, against theft, as well as various materials related to drug trafficking.
The detainees will attend the first judicial interrogation at Penafiel Criminal Court on Tuesday.
