This Monday, Bishop Americano Aguiar addressed an open letter to young candidates for higher education and encouraged them to reflect on what makes them happy and satisfied.
The Patriarch began by asking each student to think: “I can almost hear so many questions, asked silently or among friends: “What am I going to apply for and what should my preferences be based on?”
“Am I going to avoid math and Portuguese? Am I going to take the same course or go to my girlfriend’s school? Am I going to continue the family business, the office, what is expected of me?” he wrote.
Americo Aguiar continued to address the young people with the idea that making such decisions is difficult: “None of this is easy… but I want to tell each of you, I wish I could tell you personally (…) Make an effort to find some isolation and silence.”
However, according to Americo Aguiar, to make the right decision, young people should focus on what makes them “happy” and only then should they put it “on the table.” “economic and housing issues, as well as mobility and many others.”
