Andy Murray announced on Tuesday that he will compete in his final tennis tournament at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. The 37-year-old Briton posted a message on social media announcing his intention to hang up his racket for good.
“I’ve come to Paris for my last tennis tournament. Playing for Great Britain has been by far the most memorable few weeks of my career and I’m very proud to be able to do it for the last time,” Murray wrote.
The player plans to compete in Paris 2024 in both doubles and singles in search of his fourth or fifth Olympic medal.
Murray won singles gold in London in 2012 and mixed doubles silver with Laura Robson. He won the singles title again in Rio de Janeiro in 2016.
