The Winter Series will start on October 31 with eight couples

The Jai Alai Winter Series will start on October 31, 2022 and end on February 19, 2023. Although only one edition has been played so far, the championship has acquired prestige and fame. All matches will be broadcast live on eitb.eus and ETB1.

The championship will feature a total of 16 festivals in this second edition, an amount that doubles compared to last season’s championship. In addition, this year’s Winter Series will have a duration of 4 monthsalso double that of its first edition, in which its duration was two months.

The organization has made a firm bet on the young and altogether there will be 16 pointers who will compete in the championship; four more than in the previous season. Playing for the first time: Winter Series Pro-Am winners Thomas Urrutia and Aimar AldazabalThe guests Johan Sorozabal (Biarritz, 21 years old) and Julen del Rio (Vitoria-Gasteiz, 25 years old), together with the experienced puntists from Iparralde Jon Tambourindeguy Y David Minviell. The most pointed are known: Erkiaga, Zabala, goikoetxea, etcheto, Beaskoetxea, Lopez, Railing, Lekerika, Olharan Y Basque.

Full support of Euskal Telebista

The project has the full support of Euskal Telebista. All the matches will be broadcast live on eitb.eus and ETB1 in “prime-time”. The matches will be played on Mondays, except for the final that will be played on Sunday, February 19. EITB Media will put all its technical and professional means to offer something more than a sporting event.

Groups and first match

The punters will be divided into two groups. Group A will be made up of couples Barandika-Lekerika, Erkiaga-Zabala, Olharan-Basque and Urrutia-Aimar; instead, in group B they will compete Beaskoetxea-López, Goikoetxea-Etcheto, Tambourindeguy-Minvielle and Johan-Del Río.

The first duel of the championship will take place on Monday, October 31 with the confrontation between Erkiaga-Zabala and Barandika-Lekerika.
