Goncalo Borges on the rise after Porto’s seventh win

In the final act of the training camp in Austria – the team returns to Porto this afternoon – Vitor Bruno’s side took to the pitch with a virtually new defence (last season only João Mário was in the starting line-up), a well-stocked midfield (Grujic, Varela and Niko) and an unprecedented front line (Iván Jaime, Namaso and Gonçalo Borges).

Before the hydration break (22 minutes), the game was balanced, without any bright or dangerous moments. But since then, Porto has proven itself and started playing better football. This was reflected in Grujic’s goal (33′), when he answered with a quality header to a good cross from the right foot of the left Martim Fernandes. In the 41st minute, the Dragons could have increased their advantage, but Sherpen parried a malicious pass from a teammate for a corner.

In the second half, the Graz team went for the result, but it was Porto who made the score 2-0 after a well-executed counter-attack by Gonçalo Borges, who crossed low into the center of the penalty area, where Namaso seemed to touch the back of the net.

Porto dealt with the situation in the match, with Vitor Bruno making four changes to the team.
