The fire in Frexianda parish in the municipality of Ourém, which broke out this afternoon, has mobilised more than 260 emergency personnel and 11 aircraft.
According to a source from the Sub-Regional Directorate of Emergencies and Civil Defense of the Middle Tagus, the fire started at 14:17 with two fires, but “in the meantime they are already together.”
The fire is raging “intensely” in a forested area in Casal de Alem, in the parish of Frexianda, municipality of Ourém, in the district of Santarém.
“We have no reports of houses being threatened so far,” the same source in the sub-regional command told Lusa.
At 15:32, the website of the National Office of Emergency Situations and Civil Protection reported that there were 260 people on the ground, supported by 72 vehicles and 11 aircraft.
