Argentine cyclist Nicolás Tivani (Aviludo-Luleto-Lule Consello) won the sprint of the second stage of the 85th stage of the Volta a Portugal on arrival in Lisbon this Friday, while Swiss Colin Stüssi (Vorarlberg) retained the lead in the individual race overall.
Tivani, 28, completed the 164.5km course between Santarem and Marvila in Lisbon in 03:49.00, finishing ahead of teammate and compatriot Thomas Conte, second, and North American Scott McGill (Echelon) third. The best Portuguese on the stage was Rodrigo Caixas (Credibom-LA Alumínios-MarcosCar), who finished 10th.
Overall, on a day when the top three received goal bonuses, Colin Stussy (Vorarlberg) retains the yellow jersey with the same 32-second advantage over Portugal’s António Carvalho (ABTF-Feirense), second, and 59 seconds ahead of Luis Fernández (Credibom-LA Alumínios-MarcosCar), third.
