Investigators from the Lisbon PSP arrested two young men, aged 16 and 17, for brutally robbing the same victim, a 16-year-old boy, just 13 days apart. In fact, the victim suffered a muscle injury to his jaw and was hospitalised as a result of the attacks.
The first crime occurred on July 1 in the Areiro district. Under intense physical and psychological pressure, the victim was attacked by three suspects who stole a coat, a bag and 60 euros.
Although he escaped unharmed this time, the young man sustained injuries considered serious in the next attack. The crime took place on July 13 in the parish of Alvalade. Two members of the group responsible for the first robbery cornered the young man and attacked him violently. The victim was left without a mobile phone, a pair of AirPods, a suitcase and a coat – all valued at 1,819 euros.
The 16-year-old had to undergo emergency examination at the hospital and was diagnosed with a muscle injury to his jaw.
Agents from the Lisbon PSP Criminal Investigation Department took over the investigation and arrested two of the perpetrators of the crimes against the 16-year-old. After being charged, they were brought before the court, where they were both remanded in custody.
