Portuguese rider Manuel Grave, riding Cara de Bremois, is healthy and heading to the Olympic Village after falling in the cross-country event as part of the equestrian event at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
According to the press service of the Portuguese Olympic Committee (COP), the rider “is healthy and is traveling to the Olympic Village, but will undergo a medical examination at the COP Directorate of Sports Medicine.”
A Portuguese rider was ruled out of the equestrian competition at the 2024 Paris Games on Sunday after falling in the cross-country race.
After finishing 59th in the dressage with 40.70 penalties on Saturday, Manuel Grave fell while attempting to jump one of the obstacles on the course on Sunday.
The Portuguese rider needed to finish in the top 25 places in the dressage and cross-country combination to take part in the show jumping competition, which concludes the competition on Monday.
