Christian Atsu’s room discovered and two pairs of shoes found, businessman confirms

Businessman Nana Sechere said on Tuesday that the room of Ghanaian footballer Christian Atsu was discovered after the earthquake that rocked Turkey and Syria and that two pairs of shoes were found.

On February 7, the Ghana Federation reported that the 31-year-old former Porto and Rio Ave player had been rescued from the rubble of a collapsed building, which would later be denied.

“It’s been nine days since the earthquake and we still haven’t found Christian. [Atsu]. I am at the site of the earthquake in Hatay with Christian’s family. The scenes are unimaginable and our hearts are broken for all those affected,” Atsu’s manager tweeted.

The director later confirmed that he had received the “exact location of the room” of Hatayspor’s Turkish striker and that two pairs of shoes had been found.

“Yesterday [segunda-feira], we received confirmation that the thermal images showed signs of up to five lives, however I was told that the only real evidence of life is sight, smell and sound. Unfortunately, we were unable to find it.”

Nana Sechere spoke about the need to have an interpreter on site, among other resources, and also accused Hatayspor of not being there with her family.

“Things are incredibly slow and as a result, many rescue operations are delayed and people die due to a lack of resources available to the workers. It is a pity that the club is not on earth with us, side by side, in search of Christian, ”he concluded.

On February 6, Turkey and Syria recorded earthquakes of magnitude 7.8 and 7.5 on the Richter scale with strong aftershocks, one of which was a magnitude of 6.0.

The disaster has claimed the lives of more than 35,000 people in Turkey and Syria, the latter being the scene of a civil war that has been going on for more than a decade, according to the latest preliminary data.
