Everything we know about the 17-year-old who stabbed a Portuguese girl and two other children to death in the UK

The suspect in the knife attack in Southport, UK, which left three girls dead, one of whom was Portuguese, is 17 and is originally from Cardiff, Wales, but lives in Banks, a village near the scene of the attack.

Information about the young man is nothing more than speculation, since the police have restrictions on disclosing information about juvenile suspects.

A BBC News The woman claimed to know the young man’s parents. The witness says the couple are from Rwanda and that they lived like a “normal family” with their two children (the suspect and his younger brother). “A couple in love,” he says.

Neighbours say the suspect was a “withdrawn” child and “very close to his mother”. They add that the teenager rarely left the house, with one neighbour claiming to have seen the boy getting into a taxi shortly before the attack. Telegraph.

According to the same source, in his youth, the 17-year-old boy attended karate classes.

“He was a good kid, a normal kid, who had a lot of energy,” the young man’s coach was quoted as saying by the publication. Telegraph.

There are also those who claim that the attacker is a refugee migrant who arrived in the UK by boat last year. On the other hand, there are those who claim that the suspect is on the MI5 or MI6 list (sections 5 and 6 respectively of the UK military intelligence) and that he would therefore already have been marked by the authorities. All this information, not confirmed by the police, can be read in messages from internet users on social networks.

Another piece of information circulating online is that the suspect’s name is Ali Al Shakati. This name, which literally translates as “I need to go to my apartment,” has not been confirmed by authorities and is believed to be fictitious.

Recall that a Portuguese girl and two other children were stabbed to death and eleven people were injured in an attack that took place on Monday in Southport, near Liverpool, England, during a dance lesson dedicated to the songs of the singer Taylor Swift.
