Surne Bilbao Basket confirmed the signing for the new season of the iSlovenian international Zoran Dragic, a well-known outside player with whom the Biscayan club practically completes its squad for the new season.
Dragic (Ljubljana, 1.96m, 35 years old), Goran’s brother, with whom he once coincided in the NBA, is the twelfth player confirmed by the Bilbao club for this new season.
The youngest of the renowned Slovenian brothers thus joins a squad that includes Melwin Pantzar, Kristian Kullamae, Xabi Rabaseda, Thijs de Ridder and Tryggvi Hlinason from last season, and which has also been joined by point guard Harald Frey, shooting guard Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman, forward Rubén Domínguez and inside players Tomasz Gielo, Marvin Jones and Amar Sylla.
Zoran Dragic joins Surne Bilbao from Cedevita Zagreb, team with which he averaged 15.9 points and 4.1 rebounds per game in the Croatian league, 10.2 points in the ABA League and also played in the Euro Cup.
Experience in the ACB
Champion of the Endesa League with Baskonia in 2020, Dragic has extensive experience in both ACB and European competitions and in the NBA.
In the Endesa League he played in the Unicaja between 2012 and 2014 and at Baskonia between 2019 and 2021; in Europe he played in eight Euroleagues, five Eurocups and one Eurochallenge; in the NBA he wore the Phoenix Suns and Miami Heat jerseys.
