Cyclist Maria Martins finished the omnium in 14th place.

Portuguese cyclist Maria Martins finished 14th in the Paris 2024 Women’s Omnium on Sunday, marking Portugal’s sporting farewell to the current Olympic Games.

The last Portuguese woman to compete, Maria Martins, seventh at Tokyo 2020, finished the omnium with 61 points, with North American Jennifer Valente winning (144), followed by Poland’s Daria Pikulik (131) and New Zealand’s Ellie Wollaston (125) second and third respectively.

Portugal finishes Paris 2024 with four medals, with the highlight being gold in the Madison for cyclists Rui Oliveira and Yuri Leitan, who won silver in the men’s omnium, while Pedro Pichardo was second in the triple jump and judoka Patricia Sampaio won bronze in the men’s omnium -78kg, plus 10 more diplomas.
