This Thursday, a child was found in Lisbon on Avenida 5 de Outubro, near the Entrecampos train station. The PSP officers intercepted and identified the child’s mother, who was drunk and said she had forgotten about the child.
It was through CCTV images from a building near the site that PSP was able to identify the person responsible for the child’s abandonment.
It was 4:40 a.m. when the mother of the 3-year-old girl was seen with a baby carriage. The pictures show the mother returning without the carriage and, most importantly, without the child.
This is a child with a congenital disability who was left alone for two hours.
At 6:10 a.m. the child was discovered by members of the public, who raised the alarm.
The mother was identified and located by authorities at 10 a.m. and taken to a police station for questioning.
According to an official PSP source, the woman was speaking incoherently and incoherently.
The child’s mother was drunk at the time of her arrest by the police.
According to the same source, the woman lives in a guest house near the Entrecampos station.
A three year old girl will be removed from her mother’s care. Since there is no family member of the child to care for her, a social helpline will be called so that the child can be placed in a foster home.
