Kamala Harris remains firm after four weeks of campaigning. The US vice president continues to lead in opinion polls and has even increased her lead over her rival Donald Trump.
The FiveThirtyEight polling average shows the Democratic nominee with 46.3 percent vote intentions, 2.6 percentage points ahead of Trump’s 43.7 percent. That represents an increase in the Democrats’ lead from 2.1 to 2.6 percentage points compared to the latest figures.
Kamala Harris’s real victory in the polls is in the so-called “swing states,” or key states that are considered decisive. According to the Single State Project, an average of seven states analyzed showed that 48 percent of respondents said they intended to vote for Kamala, while 47 percent leaned toward Trump.
Democrats currently lead in Arizona, North Carolina, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, while Republicans lead only in Nevada. There is a tie in Georgia. The latest data from May showed Trump holding the advantage, leading six of those states and tied with Biden in Wisconsin.
