Festas do Mar 2024 will begin this Thursday in Cascais. For eight days, the fishing village’s bay will host food and craft stalls, programs dedicated to children, and concerts for all ages. Today, Rui Veloso opens the Festas do Mar festival. After that, until September 1, other famous names in Portuguese music will take to the stage: Barbara Bandeira, Fernando Daniel, António Sambujo, Barbara Tinoco, Thiago Bettencourt and Carolina Deslandes. Entry to the concerts is free. In addition to the main stage, a secondary stage will be set up in the Cidadela de Cascais, where artists taking their first steps will perform. On September 1st, in the afternoon, there will be a procession in honor of Nossa Senhora dos Navegantes, one of the highlights of the celebration, culminating in a fireworks display in the bay at night. Anyone who is a beneficiary of the Viver Cascais card will be able to use public transport for free and attend concerts next to the main stage, in an exclusive area, simply by collecting a bracelet for the desired day at the kiosk located in Cidadela.
