A major fire broke out in an agricultural area in the Fortios region of Portalegre on Tuesday.
203 militants were called to the scene, supported by 55 units of equipment and 10 aircraft.
The fire has two active fronts.
Hard-to-reach places make it difficult for firefighters to fight the flames.
By 5:30 p.m., the fire had spread through scrub and pine forest and had “two active fronts,” a source from the Subregional Command for Emergency and Civil Protection of Alto Alentejo said.
The alarm was received at 14:59.
