Cristiano Ronaldo scored again from a free-kick as Al Nasr returned to glory with a 4-1 win over Al Faiha in the second round of the Saudi Arabian Premier League on Tuesday.
The Portuguese striker is closing in on his 900th goal and is one goal away after successfully taking free kicks in the 45th and 10th minutes. In the second half, he failed to achieve the historic goal he was looking for.
Al-Nasr, coached by Portuguese Luis Castro and also featuring Otavio in the team, were clearly the better side on the trip to Buraidah, highlighting the excellent understanding between CR7 and Brazilian Anderson Talisca.
The first goal, five minutes later, began with a subtle pass from the Portuguese captain, opening the way for Talisca to strike.
Then, with the clock ticking 10 minutes past the 45th, the Portuguese took the lead from a free-kick, scoring with skill rather than force.
At 85, Croatian Brozovic made it 3-0 with a breakaway from the left that sent the ball into the small space between the goalpost and the keeper.
After 3:1 – Sakala reduced the score in the 87th minute – Talisca closed the scoring, also with a free kick.
Al Nasr conditionally move up to second place in the Saudi League with four points as a result of a draw and a win.
