A young woman was diagnosed with ovarian cancer after doctors underestimated the pain she had been experiencing for months.

A 27-year-old woman, born in the city of Norfolk, England, She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer after doctors downplayed the pelvic pain she was feeling and compared it to the cramps that occur during menstruation, telling her it was “part of being a woman.”

Keisha Walden began complaining in early 2023 and only discovered she had ovarian cancer in September. When she began experiencing “excruciating” abdominal pain and irregular periods, she went to see a doctor, who initially offered a solution — more exercise and a healthy diet, the doctor says. Daily mail. Later, the symptoms worsened, and the young woman underwent surgery to remove what was believed to be a cyst. However, during the operation, the woman was diagnosed with ovarian cancer.

In February 2024, during consultations and examinations, she was diagnosed with mucinous adenocarcinoma, a rare type of cancer that required the removal of her ovaries, uterus and appendix.

“Because of the late diagnosis, I was told that a hysterectomy was my only way to survive,” Kisha said, as quoted by Daily mail.

Kisha Walden continues to undergo chemotherapy, but reported Daily Mail who “hopes” that this will end on September 6th.
