In October, pensioners will have extra money in their pockets in exceptional cases. On the one hand, because they will receive an extraordinary supplement, already announced by the government, of between 100 and 200 euros, and also because the withholding tax will be reduced due to the reduction in IRS rates.
The new income tax tables were not published in time to process September pensions, so it will not be until October that pensioners will receive the adjustments resulting from the IRS decision. “The adjustments caused by the non-application of the new pension table in September will be made through December,” the Ministry of Social Protection explained.
According to the Finance Ministry’s calculations, a pensioner with a gross monthly income of 1,000 euros will have an additional 119 euros by December, taking into account the Christmas allowance. In the case of a gross pension of 1,500 euros, the reduction in IRS rates guarantees an additional 397 euros by the end of the year.
At the same time, the extraordinary supplement approved by the Council of Ministers on the 22nd will also be paid in October. However, in order not to penalize pensioners, the tax will be levied separately.
Those with a pension of up to €508.26 will receive an additional €200 in October; between €509.26 and €1,018.52 you will receive €150; and between €1,018.52 and €1,527.78 you will receive €100.
Thus, a pensioner receiving a thousand euros can count on an additional 269 euros by the end of the year, in addition to the Christmas allowance.
