The General Secretariat of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was robbed this morning

The building of the General Secretariat of the Ministry of the Interior (MAI) in Lisbon was robbed early Wednesday morning. Information provided by observerand confirmed Morning mailThe thieves made off with at least eight laptops containing classified information.

Police determined that the robbery took place when the building’s security cameras were turned off or malfunctioning.

Police sources said CM that the crime took place at around 5 a.m. in a building belonging to MAI, on Rua de São Mamede au Caldas. Having climbed onto the scaffolding installed in a neighboring building under construction, the thieves broke the glass of a window on the 6th floor.

Our newspaper found that several offices showed signs of disorder. However, the perpetrator or perpetrators of the crime focused only on computer equipment: eight laptops were seized.

Teresa Costa, deputy secretary general and the person in charge of the department’s IT department, were two of the victims.

The entry point was the same one the thieves had exited through. It was only at 10 a.m., about five hours after the crime, that the PSP agents on duty in the building confirmed the theft.

The investigation was carried out by the Criminal Investigation Department of the Lisbon PSP.
