Real Madrid disappointed once again at the start of the Spanish Football League this Thursday, playing another away draw, this time against Las Palmas (1-1) at the end of the third round, and Kylian Mbappe was again left “empty”.
Having scored on his debut for the Merengues in the European Super Cup against Atalanta (2-0), Mbappe is still without a “win” in La Liga, while champions Real Madrid “stumbled” again, this time in the Canary Islands, after a 1-1 draw in Mallorca in the first round.
Moleiro gave Las Palmas the lead just five minutes later but the home side’s first league win was denied as Vinicius Junior salvaged a point for Carlo Ancelotti’s side at 69 with a penalty.
After the third round, Real Madrid has only five points, and is already four behind eternal rivals Barcelona, which leads alone. Las Palmas, which usually struggles for maintenance, continues with two.
In the other match of the day, Girona, the ‘surprise team’ of last season, secured their first victory of the tournament in emphatic fashion, hosting and beating Osasuna 4-0.
Bryan Heal in the 34th minute, Ukrainian Tsygankov in the 53rd minute, former Sporting de Braga Abel Ruiz in the 56th minute and veteran Uruguayan striker Stuani in the 90th minute scored goals against Girona, who will participate in the Champions League for the first time, although they have no Portuguese opponents (Benfica and Sporting) in the main phase.
