Porto (Pot 1) and Braga (Pot 2) already know their possible opponents in the Europa League stage, the draw for which will take place tomorrow at 12:00. Like the Champions League, UEFA’s second tournament will also use a single group format with 36 teams, following the same logic: the first 8 directly qualify for the round of 16, 9th to 24th places compete in a two-legged playoff and from the 25th are eliminated from all European competitions, meaning they do not even qualify for the Conference League.
As in the Champions League, each team in the Europa League will face two teams from each pot, for a total of eight opponents (four at home and four away). They cannot play teams from the same country and can only play a maximum of two teams from the same association.
