The FC Porto coach admitted this Friday that he expects a “smoother” closure of the market than what has happened so far, but stressed that he is prepared for possible departures of players.
“We expect a balance in these last hours, although some clubs can break any clause, which always makes us nervous. The signings were made out of necessity. No one was expelled from the club. We have to find alternatives, sometimes without revealing the objectives,” explained Vitor Bruno at a press conference dedicated to the match with Sporting, scheduled for the fourth round of the Portuguese 1st Football League.
Regarding the possibility of Fabio Vieira, Deniz Gul and Samu Omorodion being reinforcements for the game against Sporting, the Dragons coach cleared up some of the situations on Saturday.
“These are reinforcements that come at different stages of maturation. They will have to make training their strongest ally, that is, then they will understand what we want from them. Some reinforcement will be ready, but we will soon decide in what form,” he assured.
Vitor Bruno also discussed the Europa League draw and spoke about the demands that Porto’s opponents will make.
“We will play against several champions and teams with history in Europe. Thanks to the new format, we will have to be on the verge of perfection to directly qualify for the 1/8 finals,” he concluded.
FC Porto, who lead the table with the same nine points as Sporting, will play this Saturday at 20:30 at the José Alvalade stadium against the Lions in a match of the fourth round that will be refereed by Luis Godinho of the Evora association.
