This edition of the Flag of La Conchawhose first of the two days will take place this Sunday, is presented with a clear favorite in the women’s category, Arraun Lagunakand with an exciting duel between the three most in-form traineras in the men’s category: Urdaibai, Zierbena and the local Donostiarra.

The women’s regatta will be the first to be contested with two boats from the capital among the eight best because Donostiarra is classified as a host while Arraun Lagunak, who has had the best performance of the two this summer, achieved this by winning the qualifying round that took place this Thursday.
Arraun Lagunak has won 15 of the 16 Eusko Tren League flags this seasonthe highest category of rowing, while the last one was achieved by the Tolosaldea trainera, which is emerging as the main rival of the Euskotren League champions to prevent them from expressing their favouritism with a new title in the 17th edition of this women’s regatta in La Concha.
Astillero, Chapela, Hibaika, Kaiku and Orio are the other five rowing boats that will compete for the Flag.

Zierbena, Urdaibai and Donostiarra, favourites
As for the men’s regatta, four Guipuzcoan vessels, three from Biscay and the Coruña-based Cabo will be the stars of the inline regatta that will take place at midday with the start and finish in the emblematic bay of the capital of San Sebastian.
Zierbena and Urdaibai put on a show in the men’s qualifier preliminary time trial on Wednesday, with a practically identical time in which only 10 tenths separated both boats and together with Donostiarra they have won 16 of the 18 flags contested during the summer season. Hondarribia and Getaria complete the list with one victory each.
The trainera Donostiarra has been exempt from this preliminary round because the statutes require that a local boat be in all cases on the starting line of the most prestigious flag and the one that distributes the prizes. Awards higher (90,500 euros (both in the male and female categories).
Along with Zierbena, Urdaibai and Donostiarra, Orio, Kaiku, Getaria, Cabo and Hondarribia will row.
