Sporting won a classic 2-0 victory over Porto in the fourth round of the First Football League, temporarily taking isolated command of the tournament.
A goal from Swedish striker Viktor Gyokeres, who converted a penalty in the 72nd minute, and another goal from Zhenya Katamo at 90+3 were enough for the country’s champions, who won their fourth victory in the same number of games, to defeat the Dragons, who lost championship points for the first time.
The win puts Sporting in sole charge of the tournament with 12 points, three more than Famalicao, who play at Vitoria de Guimarães on Sunday, and Porto and Santa Clara, both with four games.
