Arraun Lagunak wins the first day of the Bandera de La Concha, with a nine-second advantage over Orio

Donostia Arraun Lagunak ha cattle the First day of the La Concha Flag of 2024in the women’s event, this Sunday, in San Sebastian, with a difference of nine seconds and ten hundredths over Oriosecond place, twelve over Tolosaldeaand thirteen with respect to Donostiarraas regards vessels classified for the honor round of the second daywhich will take place next Sunday. In this way, Arraun Lagunak has obtained a remarkable income over his main rivals to win the 17th edition of the La Concha Flag.

In this context, In the first session, Orio, from lane four, clearly dominated and obtained a comfortable first position. The boats skippered by Maider Etxaniz have been able to show their status as a club in the Euskotren League against Kaiku, Chapela and Astillero, and with a time of 10:37, they have obtained a lead of twelve seconds over Astillero, 17 over Chapela, and 24 over Kaiku. Already on the tack, Orio led the round, with a five-second advantage over Astillero. Thus, the Guipuzcoan trainer was the reference for those in the second round, in which four clubs from the Euskotren League were rowing.

The great role played by Orio has been confirmed when in the second roundat the turning point, the League champions, Arraun Lagunakclocked a time of 5:14, just one second faster than the one set by the team from Orio. With Tolosaldea and Donostiarra engaged in a nice fight for second place, and Hibaika a little further behind, the team skippered by Andrea Astudillo, however, completed an excellent second length. They soon gained a lead of three boats over their pursuers, and their rowing, firm and as brilliant as throughout the rest of the season, only widened their gap. Thus, at the finish line, Arraun Lagunak’s time of 10:28 left Orio, second on this first Sunday, just over nine seconds behind, with the La Concha Flag closer to returning to the San Sebastian club’s showcases.
