On Monday, UEFA set the maximum ticket prices that clubs can charge visiting fans for three competitions: the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League.
From this season, the maximum ticket price for visitors will be 60 euros in the Champions League, 40 in the Europa League and 20 in the Conference League.
In recognition of the “importance” of followers to a successful football product, these prices will be reduced in the next 2025/26 season to €50, €35 and €20 respectively.
“This decision underlines UEFA’s commitment to making European football more accessible to all fans, who play a crucial role in creating an exciting atmosphere,” which defines the three club competitions the organisation promotes.
UEFA said the measure had been taken following “extensive consultation” with other organisations such as the European Club Association (ECA) and Football Supporters Europe (FSE), as part of a “shared commitment” to improve the fan experience at European competitions.
UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin stresses “the mission of maintaining football as an inclusive sport in which fans who travel across Europe to follow their teams are valued and recognised.”
ECA leader Nasser Al-Khelaifi praised the “important sign that all clubs are actively contributing to improving the overall fan experience”, while FSE chief executive Ronan Ewain stressed the idea that the gesture “is further recognition of the importance that visiting fans have in the playing environment of European clubs”.
