Elon Musk Says Brazilian Judge Deserves Jail After ‘X’ Suspended in Brazil

Elon Musk, CEO of Platform X, said Brazilian judge Alexandre de Moraes “deserves jail for his crimes” after Brazil’s Federal Supreme Court (STF) upheld the suspension of the social network in the country.

“De Moraes deserves jail for his crimes,” Musk wrote on his X account.

The veto on X came after the mogul ignored several court orders that had already ordered the suspension of dozens of profiles on the platform as part of a drive to spread fake news and attack democracy and institutions.

The removal of Alexandre de Moraes from his position as “dictator” in the previous days.

Likewise, the tech mogul took advantage of the hours since X’s suspension was confirmed on Brazilian soil to continue his attacks on the judge. Between messages, he shared a guide to a VPN that doesn’t reveal their location in Brazil so they could use X.

After it was revealed on Monday that the United States had seized the official plane of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro in an operation based on sanctions violations against Venezuela that was carried out in the Dominican Republic, Musk linked the two events in his social media threat to Brazilian President Lula da Silva.

“If the Brazilian government does not return the illegally confiscated property of X and SpaceX, we will also seek mutual seizure of state assets. I hope Lula uses commercial flights,” Musk said.

In addition to the injunction against X, there is another front in the legal conflict with Starlink (SpaceX), also owned by Musk, which has refused to comply with the suspension of the social network in Brazil.

The accounts of Starlink, a satellite internet company with about 215,000 active lines in Brazil, have been blocked by a judge to ensure payment of fines imposed on X, which has about 20 million users in the country.
