An FC Porto fan was arrested on Saturday at a match against Rio Ave for failing to comply with a measure banning sports venues, a source at the Office for the Prevention and Combating Violence in Sports confirmed to Luce this Sunday.
The said 18-year-old supporter from the Porto Super Dragões cheerleading squad was detained by PSP during a Football League 1 matchday 21 match because he was “not given access to sports facilities and was awaiting notification of being in the process of making a final decision to try smuggle fireworks onto a sports facility,” the same APCVD source said.
In addition to being detained for “disobedience to a preventive measure”, the Porto fan was simultaneously notified of the final decision in the case with a fine of 1000 euros and a ban on access to sports facilities for a period of 10 months for the offense committed” in a meeting on September 30 between the “dragons and Sporting de Braga.
The supporter will be present in court.
