The International Pelota Federation (FIPV) granted this Friday the venues of the next two world championships to San Luis (Argentina)in 2026, already Bilbao-Gernika, in 2030.
meeting in Biarritzwhere they are currently being held the 2022 world cupsthe FIPV decided for the first time to award two venues at the same time and both proposals were approved unanimously, the president of the organization told EFE, Xavier Cazaubón.
In this way, it will be the first time that Bilbao either Guernica host this event, but other Basque towns have previously hosted the Pelota World Cup. It is the case of Saint Sebastian (1952, 1970), Vitoria-Gasteiz (1986), Pamplona (1962, 2002), Saint John of Luz (1994) and Biarritz (1978, 2022).
On the other hand, the assembly also agreed on the re-election of Cazaubonunopposed, until 2026, with a program based on “the consolidation, renewal and expansion” of the ball.
