More than 7,000 aftershocks have been recorded in Turkey since the February 6 earthquake.

The two earthquakes that hit Turkey on the 6th, with a preliminary balance of 42,000 dead and 115,000 injured in the country, had more than 7,000 aftershocks, the Turkish National Emergency Service (Afad) said today.

According to the director of the seismographic department, Afad Orkhan Tatar, there were three different earthquakes, two on the 6th, with an epicenter in Kahramanmarash, and a magnitude of 7.7 and 7.6, and another, independent of them, on the second Monday, in Khatai, on the Mediterranean coast, magnitude 6.4.

A total of 7,242 aftershocks of these three earthquakes were recorded, of which 41 had a magnitude of 5 to 6, that is, an earthquake with a magnitude that usually occurs in Turkey 10 times a year, always causing panic, although rarely. , victims.
