Evenepoel wins the UAE Tour; Pello Bilbao, fourth

the belgian cyclist Remco Evenepoel (Soudal-Quick Step) has been proclaimed the winner of the UAE Tour this Sunday after the dispute of seventh and last stagedisputed between Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium and Jebel Hafeet over 153 kilometers and in which the British Adam Yates (UAE Emirates) has taken the last victory partial.

Evenepoel retained the leader’s red jersey, which he put on on the third day, in a day that ended up in Jebel Hafeet, a climb in which, with six kilometers to go, he neutralized the breakaway of the day.

It was on those ramps that Yates launched an attack to which only the Belgian responded, aware that overall victory could escape him. Thus, the Briton crossed the finish line in a time of 3:29:42, ten seconds ahead of Evenepoel and 42 seconds ahead of Frenchman Geoffrey Bouchard (AG2R-Citroën).

With that, Yates snuck into the final podium of the raceone minute behind Evenepoel and third after the Australian Lucas Plapp (INEOS Grenadiers), expelling from him the Basque Pello Bilbao (Bahrain-Victorious).
