Benfica’s SAD confirmed in a statement to the Securities Market Commission that it is accused of tax fraud in the Blue Bag process.
The application to which cm has access, confirms that a member who is still in office is being charged in a process investigating the alleged use of Benfica funds to pay third parties. The investigation accuses members of the board of directors of SAD in the period from 2016 to 2020 also of falsifying documents.
The Eagles remind that “the process is running its course, and the right to defense will be exercised in the manner prescribed by law.” Also involved are former Benfica president Luis Filipe Vieira, current SAD administrator Domingos Soares de Oliveira and former Benfica financial director Miguel Moreira.
