The union of workers of airports, maintenance and aviation (STAMA) canceled the strike of the ground forces, which was supposed to start on Friday, the union structure said.
As STAMA’s Fernando Simões explained to Lusa, Groundforce’s insolvency administration has shown a willingness to meet workers’ demands.
“At the moment, there is a statement of intent to finalize the agreement in the sense of accepting these requirements, so we, in good faith, agreed to withdraw the strike,” the trade union leader said.
When asked by Lusa about which claims are subject to this obligation to respond on the part of the company, the responsible person cited, as an example, non-compliance with the Company’s Time Change Agreement.
“Temporary changes are made in a way that is not in line with what is set out in the Company Agreement, and when employees say no because it is not in line with what is set in the agreement, they have problems even in the disciplinary area” . , exemplary.
The leader of the union also stressed “the efforts of the administration to meet the demands of the workers.”
“The commitment that was made with us makes us believe that we will reach an understanding, we just need to finalize it. The guarantees that were given to us were such that we now see with kind eyes the lifting of the strike,” he added. .
The strike notice issued by STAMA applied for 24 hours on March 3 and 4, and from March 5, only applied to overtime work, including holidays.
